Sounds like a plan. It's a good thing you've got Ruth to keep you in line! (not such a good idea about the beer though)

baby i eat okay anyway in a weird kind of way, only brown holmeal toast in the morning , a sarny or soup midday, agood meal at about 4 30 not always healthy but mabye 3 salads in a week, but can snack later at night. thats when im ok if not soup or something light, the brazil nuts helped emma she needed the toilet badly she was constipated since the hospital you no what you women are like wont go on a strange toilet, so the nuts sorted her.i dropped to 100mg for two days i thought they were the trouble, no ill effects back up to 120 now .yes i still get the anxiety but not so bad started to get ringing in the ears again think the med to high but see the nob next wednesday , i will ask you about that nearer the time

Ok, sounds like everything is status quo for a while. What's a sarny?

Oh, I should have figured that out about the sarny. You Brits sure do have a lot of your own words.

I'm curious as to what the nob will say next week about your meds. It does seem like you're on a high dosage of Cymbalta although you had that ringing in the ears from the Effexor as well and you weren't even on that high of a dosage of that medication.

Brian, there's no telling what the best dose is for your without experimenting. Different people will do well at different doses no matter what those papers say. You just have to keep testing it out and decide for yourself what you think the optimum level is for you vs. the side effects that develop. If you're not having any major problems with the 120 mg. dose, then I would try to stick oit out a while longer before cutting down the dosage.

I know you love to play around with the doses any time there's an issue or you get bored waiting for results but just keep remembering that it's gotten you into trouble in the past. If you're tempted to change something, talk to Ruth. She'll set you straight.

    Hi
My name is Jennifer and I have been on a dosage of 150mg for 5 years. My diagnosis changed from seasonal depression to Bipolar type II a few years ago. I am also highly anxious when manic and have had several panic attacks.
This drug has helped to keep me realitively stable. It keeps my manic and depressed states less sever than they would be without the medication.
I only notice side effects when I miss taking it, even a few hours late. I get body tremmors, migraines, and a feeling of numbness and nausea at the same time. I was hospitalized once for missing it for 3 days.
Have there been any long-term studies of the drug, concerning organ function? What about pregnancies? If I have a baby while on the drug will it be born with 3 heads and 6 legs?
    Just wondering.
    Thanks.

    Hi Jennifer,

I agree with Warren. I'm not sure what damage could be done to a baby from the mother taking Effexor but the withdrawal to the young child would be reason enough not to try getting pregnant while taking this medication. Please speak to your doctor about what your options are. You may need to get your psychiatrist and your general doctor to coordinate on this.

Also, I haven't heard of any long-term studies of Effexor on internal organs. I doubt that it would have any kind of bad effect on them. It seems to me that the big question would be what kind of long-term effects (if any) Effexor and other similar medications might have on neuroreceptors in various areas of the brain. I don't know that there are adequate answers to that question yet.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

    Venla
