Just back from holiday from the Greek Island of Kefalonia - sick as a pig as I have to go back to work tomorrow. When you are not on top form the holiday blues can seem pretty bad.
Had a bad episode before I went on holiday and had to go back and see the shrink who now has me on ven as well as mirtazipine - will keep you posted as to how it goes.
Hope you are all OK and keep in touch.

Brian - I will e-mail some pictures when I download them from my camera.

    Hey Steve,

I'm not sure I follow you. We knew you had a bad spell before you left on holiday but how were you once you got to the Greek Island of Kefalonia? When you said you had the Holiday Blues did you mean because you didn't want to go back to work or because your holiday didn't go well? I really hope it was the former and that you got to enjoy yourself in that beautiful and exotic locale.

Ven and mirtazipine can be a powerful combination. I hope they work for you and get that anxiety under control. I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes. My fingers are crossed for you.

    Venla

    Venla/Foxy,
My holiday actually went very well until the end of my second week where I started negative thinking about coming home. I think the change of meds has had a postive effect and I'm feeling a bit more relaxed at work. I went to the gym last night and felt really good after it, hopefully my mood will continue to lift and the anxiety keeps under control.
Venla - When you say powerful combination, what do you mean?

Good to hear that the holiday was mostly good and that things are looking up.

The combination of Effexor/venlafaxine with Remeron/mirtazapine has the nickname of "California Rocket Fuel". Don't ask me how that came about. I just know that it's supposed to be a powerful combination. Hopefully it will be for you!

I've been having a lot of anxiety lately myself. Too much on my mind and then I tighten up my chest muscles and it feels like it's difficult to breathe. I'm going to try some meditation and see if that helps.

    Venla,
Chin up and I hope the meditation helps. Try reading "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, the book works wonders for me!
    Steve.

Thanks! I'll check it out. Part of the problem is that I'm getting a sinus infection so I'm all plugged up. I think that taking care of that problem along with stress management techniques should do the trick.

    Hope you're still doing well.
